Tina Bousu of Eclectic Twist gave us a sweet, home tour of her space! Tina shares with us how she got started on her design journey, sources of inspiration, and, of course, her favorite spot in her home.
The Moment it Started Getting Eclectic
We had lived in white walled apartments for many years, (this was pre-peel and stick wallpaper and temporary option days) so I started doing design and diy projects as soon as we moved into our first house. Our first diy was building a big dining table with 2 toddlers and a baby in a bouncy seat. From there it snowballed as I discovered my passion for it.
Finding Inspiration
I mostly trust my gut, it sounds goofy but its true. If something piques my interest and sparks a reaction it's a good sign. I try not to take myself too seriously and I believe our spaces should be the same. Life is tough enough, your home should make you smile.
Design Style: It's Eclectic, of course!
I love elements of all genres so I don’t pinpoint myself into one category. Eclectic is the perfect word, along with a dash of whimsy and plenty of color. Joy is always what I’m after, creating a space that feels lived in and loved.

Favorite Space
The laundry room is a top fave, its our most used entry point so we walk in there several times a day and it always makes me smile. I also adore the bedroom with the artichoke lamps, they bring just the right amount of quirkiness.
Current Project
I’m about to finish wallpapering our kitchen top to bottom which I’ve been wanting to do for ages. And the half bath is in my purview soon!
I’m also working on designing a half bath and some Stray Dog sconces for that! Also Stray Dog lamps are SO good, I am absolutely looking at adding some of those to a space soon too.
Personal Touch
Thrifting is probably my favorite regular past time, I’ve been going for 20 years and consider myself a pirate on a modern day treasure hunt. I love travelling and camping road trips with my fam. Horror movies are my jam, I never turn down a good horror movie.
